Top Tarot Reader Interview
This is an interview between Chris Puddy of LinkLight.com and Roche of TopTarot.com
Chris
What sort of thing can you help people with? From your experience, what is it that most people are looking for?
Roche
I connect people with themselves, into their heart, into personal responsibility. The heart is our connection to divinity, and the most trustworthy space in the cosmos, a place of absolute aliveness and utter safety. This is what I search for in both myself and my client, but they have to be willing,of course.
Chris
So if you have that willingness, and someone has a question, how does a Tarot reading actually help them? How does the system work?
Roche
The system of oracle, which has been used since time immemorial, is one that works only in the absence of opinion, thought, and logic. One doesn't apply rationality, or give advice.
Oracle works only in the absence of ego. One creates an opening, through which can enter direct knowledge of whatever it is that is being sought. When one does this, it acts as a catalyst for the client who also become a clear conduit. When I become oracle, the recipient also becomes so. (Oracle is that which is open, it is perfect openness). All knowledge is already existent, already present, in an unbroken time continium which is beyond past, present and future linear time, which from this point of reference, is a fabricated reality.
To the Oracle, linear time doesn't exist as a singular or whole reality, but is simply a useful tool for physical reality. So in this invented context of time, that which is supposedly the future, is already connected to the whole and thus manifest.
Chris
Do you get all this information just from one card or do you use a pattern of cards, or what happens?
Roche
It is not the cards themselves, but the questioner. If the questioner is focusing on one thing, it will be one card. If the questioner is searching for an overview, or maybe someone who is looking for the strategic, then there will be a group of cards reflecting their mind set, or system of mental organisation. It is always the questioner who is the designer of the layout, and the forms the way in which cards arrive.
Chris
So you have no way of knowing what you are going to do
when you start the reading?
Roche
No. I just trust. Trust was not automatic. I didn't start off by trusting but now I absolutely trust, because through hundreds of readings, many with ten cards or more, the Tarot has been 100% right, irrespective of doubt or questioning. It is just simply right, so I don't actually bother with doubt, or the how and why. I just open, and that opening is the oracular state of being,
The thing that doesn't work with any kind of divination, is stress. Of course when people want a tarot reading, there is an element of stress, even if not acknowledged in themselves. What I have to do, is not let that stress affect me, but remain in a state of trust, so I can get clear answers. If I stress, the openings close up, and become restricted, and the cards close up and become restricted. It will still be the truth, it but not all of it. You can not have anything but the truth with Tarot, but the quality of that depends on the context. As a tarot reader I can usually bypass somebody else's stress but this is not always possible.
Anyone can give themselves a tarot reading. They can choose the cards and get the interpretation from a book. I simply save time and trouble, as I seem to have perfected an understanding of symbol. Maybe I was born with it, perhaps there has been long training through many lifetimes. I give extra facility, but I am not imperative to it.
Chris
So regardless of what tarot cards you have in front of
you, you could give the same reading?
Roche
Yes, but it needs also to be understood that each Tarot card has a charge, a piece of magical knowledge. That magical knowledge is a language, or like an alphabet from which we compose our words. It is a language both absolute and irrefutable, just like the I Ching is irrefutable. It is just the most amazing thing.
Random things are like that, there is an absolute order in the apparently random, a law governing all things. Randomness appears to be so, because the rational mind has not made the necessary shift in perspective to ascertain its dynamic order. Tarot is just incredible, but it takes a long while to come to a full understanding, to learn how the alphabet works as it were. But when you have learnt it, it is just so amazing, it is just infallible.
Chris
Is there any reading you've given, (without giving
details of who, obviously), that has had a dramatic effect
on somebody?
Roche
They have all been like that.
Chris
Really? Is it the same for a short reading or a long reading?
Roche
How much information can be passed on in 15 minutes or how much in an hour, is only a question of the amount, but the quality is the same. It is just that one is succinct, and the other in depth. So if someone has a 15 minute reading or an hour, it makes no difference to the quality of the reading but only the depth.
It is better for someone who is not used to having readings to have an hour, because I want to go quite slowly in a step by step process, so each layer is understood before adding the next, and I can build understanding of the whole process as we go along.
Chris
So for someone who knows what to expect and they know about themselves, they can have a short reading to get a simple answer to something that they need an ready answer to, but for someone who has never had a reading and want to know about themselves and want to know where to go, then a longer reading is almost essential.
Roche
Yes, there is quite a lot of teaching involved in a tarot reading and one does need to prepare the ground a bit first, to introduce the concepts. An hour is also necessary when dealing with delicate issues,or deeply personal matters, also for things which may be frightening or causing anxiety. Time is also needed for the healing element as well.
Tarot is seldom just a matter of facts, because you are dealing with love and sacred areas, when dealing with someone's inner self, it is always on sacred ground. Whatever is needed and appropriate, needs a structure where by use can made of that information. I move with great care where feelings are involved and offer healing wherever it is necessary. I always regard the cards direct me and that direction is divine which is why it is called divination. I find it utterly trustworthy.
Chris
What started you on this path of tarot reading?
Roche
Do you know, I absolutely haven't a clue. I can't remember. I would say throughout my entire life I have been able to see clearly people's expressions, peoples faces, the kind of feeling they give off, is completely indicative of what is going on inside, in spite of how we all pretend to one another, and I can never believe that people believe other peoples pretence. It is what is commonly called psychic, but I wouldn't call it psychic, I would just call it natural or real, and that to me is all the tarot cards are, straightforward reality. Tarot is just a didactic device to structure invisible reality in such a way to gives vital information. It also creates a link between both sides of our brain where the timeless can communicate with the temporal.
I just love anything to do with the inner self, feelings, soul, eternity, and the mysteries of life, magic, love, creation.. The list, like the Tarot is eternal!
Chris
